About Me
Hi, I’m Estrellita! I’m an artist and maker creating whimsical, thoughtful work inspired by wonder, whimsy, and nature.
My practice is rooted in painting, drawing, and visual storytelling. Through illustration and mixed-media work, I explore themes of whimsy, curiosity, play, and wonder inspired by nature, learning, and everyday moments of imagination. My studio work focuses on color, texture, and openness, creating artwork that invites viewers to slow down and engage thoughtfully.
Alongside my illustration practice, I have an interest in interactive and exhibit-based work. With a BFA and several years of experience working in a children's museum, I’ve had the opportunity to design and develop pop-up exhibits, prototype interactive elements, and maintain hands-on learning spaces that are both playful and durable. My experiences deeply shape how I approach my art. I think about how people move through spaces, how materials are touched and explored, and how creativity can feel welcoming and accessible to everyone.
Across many mediums - from paintings and illustrations to tactile objects and interactive environments, my work centers on creating meaningful experiences at different scales. I’m especially interested in connecting with people and community through my artwork, creating work that is thoughtful, intentional, and inspiring.
